Stakeholder engagement

We regularly engage with our key stakeholders, including customers, local communities, investors, employees, suppliers and Government.

Our 2020 sustainability strategy was informed by feedback from 750 stakeholders in 2014, including retail occupiers, office occupiers, community contacts, local authorities, investors and analysts, employees, suppliers and sustainability specialists.

Formal stakeholder engagement in 2017 included:

  • 40,000 shoppers surveyed across our retail portfolio to understand what they want from our places.
  • Nearly 4,000 office workers surveyed on their perspectives on the workplace.
  • 30,000 customers surveyed as part of our True Value of Stores research.
  • Community consultations on our developments. Find out more about consultation at Canada Water and Eden Walk.
  • Investor relations sessions with representatives from over 205 institutions, including a sustainable places workshop.
  • British Land and Broadgate Estates employees surveyed through The Sunday Times Best Companies to Work For.
  • Key supplier conference, giving them the chance to comment on how our relationship could work better for all involved.

For key topics and concerns raised through stakeholder engagement and how we have responded, see our Stakeholder Engagement Reports in 2014 and previous years: Reports and publications.
